About the Mentor

I got diagnosed in my forties with LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adults) which is similar to Type 1 Diabetes, but with a slow onset of symptoms. This slow onset made me believe those early symptoms were just side effects of perimenopause. But instead I had developed early diabetic neuropathy in my feet and early diabetic retinopathy well before developing DKA and finally being diagnosed with Diabetes.

While having had to adjust to living with insulin dependent Diabetes I don’t live an extreme lifestyle - I live a normal one.

I am not a fitness fanatic. My main encouragement to exercise comes from my dog who leads me up and down the country roads around Mayo.

Most of my preferred food is beige and I carry a few extra pounds around my waist.

But I am managing to keep my blood glucose levels mostly within in range.

I am not expecting you to have a 90% + in range average, I simply want to help you achieving your personal goals and a high level of competence living with diabetes.

This service is built around real life, not rules, guilt, or unrealistic expectations.

If you are interested in getting mentored for as long as you need it, please get in touch with me and we can discuss further details and a potential plan of action.

Kind regards
